Default Will a 98 GP air bag work in a 92 Bonn

I have a 98 Grand Prix steering wheel and I would like to replace the original in my 92 Bonneville. Apparently everything fits, connectors and radio controls. My question is about the airbag. Will the 98 air bag work with the 92 air bag system or it will blow in my face when I'll hook it up?

Thank you.

No, it won't. 92 is the SIR system, 96+ is SRS.

I thought that SIR versus SRS was semantics or the word inflatable was frowned upon. The air bag deploys when 12V is applied or is it more complicated than that?

That'* an awesome question. I'm kinda curious about how the airbag harness pinouts compare.

The connectors are the same, yellow cable with 2 wires. That'* why I'm tempted to swap them.
