Where is the hood sensor? Why isn't this harness connected? Just curious. : )

It might never have been connected. Occasionally you will come across connectors in the wiring harnesses that don't go anywhere...like for stuff that was part of an option package that wasn't installed on the car, but is included in the basic harness assembly for the car. (Cheaper to make one harness assembly with extra connectors than to make and stock multiple harnesses for every possible combination of options.)

You don't usually find them in the engine wiring harness...though there can be stuff in the engine wiring that doesn't connect to the body. (an example on mine is the tach lead from the ignition module..it'* present in the engine harness, but dead-ended at the connector to the body...cause my car didn't leave the factory with a tach in the IP)

In July, someone drove into the front of my Bonnie while parked in an apartment complex. Hit and run. Driver side head lamp was smashed, bumber all scratched up, and hood was bent up in the very front (beak of hood). I suspect the body shop forgot to attach the connector.
