Default Steering wheel radio controls

:?: My 98 SSEi steering wheel radio controls have gone beserk. Volume up and down, seek engages, CD comes on, all without touching a button. The easiest temporary fix would be to disable the controls. Can this easily be done? If so, how?
Thanks

Very easily done. Just unplug the harness from the back of the stereo. There should be a harness with I think only 2 or 3 wires that are for the audio controls.

the button pod can by pried out of the steering wheel with a knife or similar object.. it will take a while as they are in there deep. pry from all angles in small increments. once you have the button pods out, you can disconnect the wiring from the back, and either push them back in the steering wheel, or take apart the switches and figure out why they are doing that. they probably have some pop or something spilled on them causing them to stick.
