93 Park Avenue. Motor is out, and sitting on the shop floor.
I'm putting the 91 Lesabre'* motor in it, swapping the brackets, intake, and the exhaust manifolds.

I noticed the 93 has the knock sensor right above the starter, the 91 does not have it there. Not even a hole where it goes. I did notice a similar sensor right above the oil sending unit on the 91, so i'd assume that is the sensor, just in a different location?

Second, there should not be a problem using this sensor? Otherwise, the block is the same as the 91, along with the heads.

Depending on when those models used which motors, you may be looking at two different motors. In 91 GM used a "C"(?) motor in the Bonneville and in 93 they used an L27 motor.

Ahhh, yes, GM reworked the motors alot in those years. 91 "c" motors had a 1 piece aluminum intake. 93, the L motor, they reworked the intake to a aluminum lower, and composite upper, and tuned the intake to allow the engine to breathe easier. The EGR valve was moved to the front of the exhaust manifold as well.

Well, stuck the 91'* motor into place, removed the intake from the 93, and discovered GM redesigned the PCV for 93 as well too. The 93'* heads have holes for the PCV ventilation drilled in the heads, whereas the 91 has no such holes. So its here that i'm screwed. At this point, I called the machine shop, and priced up some gaskets, and possibly a valve job for the junked motor. Either way was gonna run me over 300 dollars, and i'd be better off just getting a junkyard motor. I also thought of putting the pac in the rocker arm cover, and running it to the intake, and getting a regular pcv valve.

In the end, I ended up removing the pushrods, and drilling the holes where the pcv goes, right in the heads. It goes right into the rocker arm area, so I figured it would not hurt. I bet i'm the only one here who has done such a silly mod!!

If it works that'* all that matters.

And it does, motor fired right up today. Got a little coolant weeping past the o ring for the heater pipe in the intake, but it does run good. No more miss, and it runs like a 3800 ought to!
