Default Fuel gauge going crazy on '02 SSEi

Hello, I have an '02 SSEi with 75k on the odo. In the last month or so, I have noticed that when the fuel level gets anywhere below 1/4, the gauge will jump anywhere from empty all the way up to full. It will even do this with the car parked. I realize this gauge is electrical, but I have replaced the fuel filter anyway in case something might have gotten in to the sending unit.

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

The most likely thing is that your sender is bad.

And that'* down in the tank, right? Any idea how much that would set me back? I'm just debating if it'* worth it or should I just get used to resetting my trip every time I fill up.

Setting the trip is a good habit.

I think it'* 100-150ish.. do a search..others have recently done them on the 00+'*. Good news is you have a hatch in your trunk and don't have to drop the tank to do it.
