Default door lock with aftermarket remote start not locking properly

I have an ULTRASTART 1270 and it works well... EXCEPT. 1. When I start it, it unlocks and stays unlocked... I can not lock it EVEN after it is started(with the remote). When I shut it off, it will automatically lock the doors. It won't lock unless i hit unlock first, then unlock. This is the weirdest situation I have found. Help.

have you tried unplugging the battery and let the system chill itself out
I have an avital system in my 92 and it did that once.

How long have you had that system in your car?

I just installed it... I have done several before, and this one poses a problem. I can unplug the circuit for the door lock/unlock and it will still lock and unlock via the alarm arm and disarm wire in the door. the yellow (rearm) and the lt green (disarm). Not too sure where to go from here.
