Default Courtesy light problem

I have a 98 Bonn. SLE and my courtesy lights aren't working. It'* the dome light, the lights above the doors, the lights that illuminate the kick area under the dash and the trunk light. I want to check the fuses but the previous owner lost the fuse diagram, does anyone know which fuse it is in the panel?

Ok I checked them both and they're fine I wonder if it'* a relay issue? Does anyone know where I can find it in the car?

The relays are under the hood on the firewall

Did you end up solving your problem? I'm having the same issue in my 2003. Fuses underhood are all fine but no courtesy lights. (Radio is fine, display lights are fine).

How does one check a relay? Just swap out with a known good one?

Thanks!

I'm not sure with the 2003, but my 2000 has fuses and relays in several locations - under rear seat, right front fender, firewall, left passenger side and right passenger side. Check them all then check your ground buses.

2003 Bonneville SE
interior dome light blowing fuze.
fuze is under the back seat.
The lights where shorting intermitently in the wire running through the drivers side sun visor at the connection to the headliner. All I did was disconnect visor at headliner and add electrical tape to wire.

Thanks! Actually I forgot to update this thread but the culprit was not the wire but the switch on the passenger vanity visor light itself. And yes, the fuse box was under the rear seat (which just sort of pops out).

I had a heck of a time getting to the plug under the headliner though. Difficult to reach in there and disconnect it without pulling the headliner and wrecking it. Managed though.

Hang on a moment.

Please search on Toddster and "Bong". No he'* not a full blow smoker, he wrote up the test to determine what is up with illumination. If the bong test doesn't give results then we'll dig further into the manuals and get more info for you.

We don't want to guess though, the flow charts tell us exactly where to aim you.
