Can you describe how you removed the shift lever **** or handle so that the plastic piece surrounding it could be removed? I found the spring tang on the front of my handle (in a '97) but could not figure how to disengage it. :?:

Thanks

It'* a clip. Pull it out. Straight forward towards the stereo. Then remove the 2 torx screws under your ashtray insert.

1993, perhaps you should explain the reason for your post so that others can understand?

Moving this to Electrical.

Thanks, willwren, that will save much time if I ever have to move the dash panel again.

You mean how do you lift the console/shifter top trim? 2 torx screws under your ashtray, then remove the shifter handle. Put the shifter in N, and lift the console. It pivots up from the rear. You won't find the TC/Shift harness by digging through the opening for the switch pod

Didn't think it'd be easy to get out like that. I felt something, but not being able to find an end, i wasn't going to start pulling like that.

I may go feeling around. Think TC will work if i just hook it up? It was an option on 93'* with H4U... If it works, i'm not sure how much i'll want to snip it off. :?
