Bypass auto moon roof?
In the hot summer I like to park the car with the roof popped up but my 96 won't let me. Closes soon as the door is opened.
Anyone know if I could bypass this feature without bypassing the rest?

You should be able to over ride your AFTERMARKET roof by touching the button once after pulling the key out.
Reason behind my capping aftermarket is because the factory roofs don't automatically shut, they saw it as a safety concern. My truck has the aftermarket and it shuts automatically like you are saying...
Try the button touch after key is pulled. It should hold where it is.

Bill,
yes your right, its an aftermarket probably installed by the dealer as its not listed on the window sticker.
I'll try hitting the button in the pop up position after I pull the key out.
If thats what you mean.

It worked Thanks.
I had to take the key out, open the door, then hit the switch and it stayed.
I suppose I could find the signal wire patched into the fuse box and re-route it to something thats dead with the key off, like the wipers.

Actually you may want to leave it the way it is. This way you are the only one that knows the secret trick to it. If you lend the car out for any reason you know the roof will auto shut always and never get rain or debris in there.
