Default Brake Lights Mod

Your brake lights...

My brake lights...

Only took a couple of hours, half a pint of blood, 3 band-aids, 1/4 tube burn ointment (molten plastic is hot boys and girls), 12 swear words, and 3 beers....

Thanks to RandMan for the parts, and BillBoost for shipping them.

All I did was dremel out the running light holes to accept the larger brake light sockets. Spliced the current running light circuit into the new sockets. Then ran a wire to tap the brake lights into the brake light circuit.

The catch was, the brake light sockets have to be trimmed a bit. They're about a 1/2 inch too long to fit between the light assembly and the trunk. Luckily, there'* plenty of extra socket there to trim off.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any during pics. Camera phone ran out of memory, and I didn't feel like tracking down the real camera...

Shouldn't need an extra. Kinda hard to mess it up. The holes for the running light sockets have an indent around them the same size as a brake light socket. The hardest part is making notches for the little tabs....
