Default The Big 3 Upgrade

Since I upgraded my 2006 Grand Prix'* stereo system I am looking to upgrade the big 3.
Which is the batt to alternator wire, the batt to chassis ground wire, and the motor block to chassis ground.
Now the first two are easy to find, but I am not sure where the ground is on the motor, the one that goes from motor to chassis...
Anybody have any idea where I can find that wire?

If I have to I could dig out my FSM, but it is in storage still, so it is in a tote buried by a tote or two...

Here is what I am running for the big 3 upgrade, I think it will be sufficient, lol

Especially if I ever get the overpowered alternator I have my eyes on, it is 400$ though.....

Best to dig out the FSM for the engine to chassis schematic.
I added a larger ground wire to fender. (Anchor marine grade tin/copper) that helped nicely.
Larger redundant wire to Quality Power Alternator. 160amp idle and has a bit smaller diameter pulley.
Smaller diameter pulley can help to boost amp output & overcome the lower idle speeds.
On average, most of the alts like the 1500-1800 rpm for best output.
IDK about your GXP but my alt exciter wiring is not the brightest on the block.
What alternator are you thinking about buying?

This is the one I'd like to add, I may not need it after I do the big 3, because my system is at around 1,000 watts with all speakers included, and most of the time I am probable only pushing like 900 watts, but I figured having a better alternator would a worthwhile upgrade..

That seems like a of of $- is that a new Alternator or rebuilt?
I remember before I got a new high amp alt, I was looking for reviews.
This one is interesting: https://www.autoguide.com/best-alternators
Quality power has an interesting calculator :https://www.qualitypowerauto.com/pag...Calculator.php

Brand new everything, also it is not like some, it claims at idle it delivers 125A and at 1,200 RPM'* it delivers full power.

Calculator say 179A

Powermasters are awesome, but I cannot find one that says it fits my car..
Wait, here we go..

Might be worthwhile to call or e:mail Power Master: I would be surprised if they don't have one for your 06.

They do, that is what I posted a link to, a ...

Powermaster 38163 GM CS144 Alternator, 200A, 6-Groove, Chrome

That is the only one I could find, there may be more somewhere..
I'd rather pay a tad less for 250A than more for Chrome 200A, even though I'll probably never surpass 200A, I may end up coming close, I still need to add another AMP for my 6x9'*, but that is only a 300W amp...

250amp for less does sound good.
I'm not a big fan of chrome unless it was a hot rod where it was visible & you like the bling factor. It does make it more expensive.
Seems like Power Master likes the bling. I do wonder though if they may have the CS144 in a cast finish available?

I e-mailed them, I'll find out.
And yea I want my motor to just look clean, no need for bling...

I thought I saw ground going across a motor mount in my car. Next time I'm out there I'll try to remember and look.
