1995 Bonne SLE start-up issue
I have a 1995 Bonneville SLE with 129k on it.
Today on my way home from work i stopped at my local sub shop for a hero, got back in the car went to start it and...nothing...the car sat there like i just had it in the "on" position, lights, everything a go, no startup. I flipped the key to on and back to start again and after a second, she starts right up. I get home and turn the car on and off a few times. Now the odd part I noticed, it seems to now need me to hold the key for over an entire 2 seconds before it actually starts. There'* now some delay to it. As such, Flip key, hold...wait wait wait...starts. What the devil could be causing this???
---edited: added info: For everyone I just want to let you know I live on Long Island and we had the worst ice storm ever, i had to heat the car up to remove the ice before work this afternoon, although that was hours before and the car was well dried off before all this happened.

Well I must say I had gone through this website and searched under passkey, knowing that was maybe an issue, at the time it happened i didn't look for or at the light, I cleaned my key even though it did not seem dirty, and just tried it 5 times, all 5 times being perfect
Maybe a piece of something got on it, car seems fine now, but if someone has some other idea what it could be, I'd still like to hear cause some problems can disappear for months and then come back, I'd like to check out whatever I can to ensure nothing like this happens again, I got a trip I'm going on in under a month, and I'm trying to get this car in top-notch shape.
PS. During the "wait wait wait" period, the car acts like it'* in on position, no click, no starter, nothing. Car sits on without motor running.

See if there is any corrosion on your battery wires- under the boots, at the starter, etc. both positive and negative side. I had (almost) this exact problem, and found the issue was corroded electrical connections on the starter.
Hope this helps
