Default 1992 bonneville ssei heater problems

I just got this car and the heat wasnt working. I checked the blower motor plug in and found that both wires were hot, one was hot all the time and the other was hot with key on. i took out blower motor and ran it directly to the battery it ran fine but wires got so hot they burned right through. i bout a new blower motor and i still have the same problem when i plugged it in i got nothing it didnt even try to turn. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

It'* a good bet your blower control module is shot. And its a crapshoot whenever you pull one from the junkyard....they have two modes of failure, either all the way on or not at all, and no way of telling until you plug it in.

Do a search on "BCM" to learn more about them, and how to replace. I just did mine and it was not even a five minute job.

Brad...can you please give the reasoning why warm wires would be a blower control module.

PS..Mod...please move to electrical for better exposure.

Just updating my problems. I put a 50 amp toggle switch running from the back of the blower motor. It is working good now and the AC blows ice cold.
