Default window spotting...

ok, so today i finally got around to really really cleaning my car...and after doing so i was soo dissappointed b/c on the windows...{not so much the windshield} there are like spots.....lots somewhat like rainwater stains....but they don't wash away....got out the glass cleaner....cleaned inside & out and still nothing....they are even on the exterier rear-view mirrors which makes it a pain to try to use them to see....so does anyone have any ideas what these immortal spots may be....and more importantly...how to get rid of them???

thanks

i dont have any problems with spotting, and i have a sorta mirror tint (20%) on my car. It could be the water and the contaments in it leaving the spots

I used to have problems with the my well water leaving the windows spotty. Try one of those Mr. Clean auto dry'*. It has worked wonders at filtering out whatever contaminates were making my glass spotted.

I would suggest trying a clay bar... You can use them on windows, paint, wheels, headlights, tail lights, anything hard and smooth basicly.

If that doesn't work, there are other things to try.

What kind of glass cleaner do you use? I use 'Invisible Glass" by Stoner, and crumpled newspapers. Has worked great for me.

Invisible Glass is very good. You can also use Bon Ami. Another tip is to use 0000 steel wool and your favorite cleaner. Try it on a small spot that is out of the way and see how you like it. Only use 0000 steel wool on the outside of the window never on the inside. And use only 0000 steel wool, this is the finest steel wool made.
