Default Speaking of stripes....

My car has the (now 12 year old ) OEM white stripes, and boy!
Are they raggedy looking!
Can't really tell if they're painted, or vinyl stick on. but, I'm 98 % sure it'* vinyl...

What'* the easiest way to remove them without damaging the paint?
It looks like clearcoat, over base.

I want to do a triple gold stripe in increasing widths of 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 inches,
spaced at 1/8 inch for a total height of 9/16 inch,
running down the side , same place as the OEM is now.
This, ( IMHO) will go well, with the future gold lace wheels, and gold grille.
