Default Black Stripe on Door is peeling

Has anyone come up with a suitable way to replace the black strip that is peeling on the doors?

Sorry if I am not quick to put a picture in my signature. I have a 98 SE. I am getting ready to paint it and want to know what to do with the stripes peeling on the doors.

They don't look black to me. They look chrome.

Please tell us what you're talking about or post detailed pics of the problem.

Do you mean these?

If so....

a. Repaint
b. Replace with one from a Junkyard

Yes, that is what I meant. I didn't know whether or not if that was paint or not. I'll just check and see what the painter can do.

They aren't painted. They're sprayed or dipped in vinyl.

I replaced all 4 of mine about 3 years ago. Fairly easy to do, not much money. About 40 bucks apiece with shipping.

If that'* out of your price range, go to a wrecker.

If it'* in your price range, tell me, and I'll post all 4 part numbers.
