If you do this (the paint thing) make dang sure the paint is CURED before you start using the bulb. When I did mine a couple of years back, the fumes caused the inside of the headlights to fog up. And getting them apart to clean the inside is kinda nerve racking....

the bulb is clear but it lights up brown/yellow mix. so far no problem even where my mom lives which is coopersville (town with very strict cops) they bust people for everything and anything. its where i got busted for my tint even after 4 years of installation.
