Custom SE Grill Question
2000-2005 SE Owners--
Are you guys actually having to cut off the original black honeycomb grill from the chrome plastic perimiter when you put on a custom mesh grill?
I took mine off to get an idea of what was involved and it appears the black honeycomb tabs are definitely not going to just pull out from the chrome perimeter. Looks like they stick them in and smash the ends down so you can't take them off!
Thanks.

Yah, I forgot that he had done it. Here'* a closeup of what I'm talking about. You can see how the tabs are sort of "stamped" down once the the black honeycomb portion of the grill is inserted from the factory. I'm assuming you just have to cut the stamped portion off for removal.

carefully cutting/grinding that "nub" off should allow you to remove the grill. One catch, tho. Sometimes them melted numbs end up gluing themselves to the other part, or the melt welds the two together, so there may be some slight "fight" left before they just fall apart.
