Default Brightening up under the hood

Just came home with my new 2002 SSEi, and I love it! Just the right mix of professional sedan, with the get up and go that I used to love in my younger, muscle car days.

I want to start slowly, as I've never really tinkered with the newer engines, so I thought I would get involved in detailing the engine compartment.

Any suggestions for what makes and models of chrome parts, braided wire, etc, and where to get them?

Thanks in advance!

morty, this isnt a welcome post, he is asking for help

grab a can of CD2 engine detailer and spray the whole thing down...

not much for chrome parts out on the market, you have to get everything done, gtpowderworks does this stuff

you could hand polish your supercharger if you want to take off the heat coating if you have it

you could order chrome valve covers

you could order a GXP strut tower brace and have that chromed

you could order a JMB performance FWI (fender well intake) and get it in chrome

if you gonna make it look that good, make sure it performs that good and get some INTENSE under your hood

INTENSE PCM

INTENSE 3.4 MPS

Understand that I am someone who once owned a 70 Chevelle SS 396 and a 70 Hemi Cuda. And yes, I was in my twenties (15+ years ago) and did not truly appreciate what I owned.

So eventually I will want the performance... however, compared to the 2000 Olds Intrigue GLS I just traded in, this is a step up in performance. I'm used to working on engines that have ZERO electronics, especially a computer, so my concern is in fouling something up. That'* why I want to get my feet wet by simply prettying up the car under the hood.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, please keep them coming in. I'm looking forward to getting back into my old hobby... tinkering.

The car is silver, and I'll get some pics up sometime in the next few days.

Unforunately as Haro tries to point out. Most dress up is custom for us. Never seemed to be a big market for parts on the sports sedan.

I'm right in the same age bracket and don't worry..the mod bug will bite you soon and probably hard. Working on the cars with electronics is actually much easier than w/o.

You may want to browse the "Your Ride" section for other dress up tips/tricks people have tried for their B'ville.
