Is it safe to wax areas that are painted near the engine like the brake casing(I dont know the exact name) or anywhere near the engine? Will it melt the wax and cause a problem? Just trying to make it look nice.

It won't cause any problems as long as you only wax the painted parts. I have done it and it makes the engine/car look a lot cleaner. Good luck
