OK, for an update. I bought 2 five button remotes from an online seller. They came with blank keys. I took them to the GM dealer in town and he was able to laser cut the new switchblade keys to the master that I had.

I programmed them in the car as the manual, dealer parts man and online seller explained. They both start the car, lock and unlock the doors, and the panic button works.

But I can't release the tailgate, or remote start the engine. The parking lights flash two times, but no start. In the manual it gives a list of things that will prevent a remote start. None of which appears to apply.

Any ideas??
