when I installing the new fan assembly there'* is a clip that holds what I think is a transmission line (thickness of a drinking straw) and is part of the plastic of the fan.
assembly. The clip has two sides that holds the tube between. One side of the clip broke off. Should I worry about this or is there a DIY type clip that can be used to hold the line

It might not be a big deal. It depends on if the line that it supports can move around a lot without that clip.

Show us a picture and maybe we can tell you more.

zip ties are usually my go-to for quick fixes like that broken clip
