had to move fast today over where going to have weather move in for the next 4 days here in FL again
but i have the motor down to just a block . cam.. pistons are all out
in all that i did not find the smoking gun ..
even with it just down to the block it was hard to get it up in to the back of my car as the core is still all most 300lbs

if i can i well hand it over to the guys in the shop and see what they have to say but again i well try to take some pics before i do

Red face

I well get better word form the shop on late Monday
but from what it looks the motor 100% spot on
the heads did not need any rework
crank looks good
cam there going to recut but did not see any thing there
block has not been 100% looked at
pistons they said are spot on as well but i told them i want to go new and to make sure the bore is in line
AT this time it looks like there was nothing wrong with the motor inless there is a funny bore and i well not know this tell monday

PS ? is it sad that the block is in the back of my EV

i hope they find some thing on monday and get the motor back soon so i can start installing it soon
if its still doing it i well have to see what i have left in funds but yes i feel a PCM is next but i really belave its not the PCM but i dont mind having a backup PCM
i am all so looking into a good Automotive Diagnostic Oscilloscope and well need some help going over what i am looking at
some thing like a Hantek 1008C Oscilloscope 8CH
this well allow me to go over all the system and see if some thing is dropping out under load

by the way i want to say thank you for staying with me and giving me a hand still . all other posters at other websites gave up alone time ago at knock sensors

so i know the motor was remand about 20 to 30K miles before i got it and i all so put 30K really hard miles on it but i can tell they reused the cam and timing chain . for a roller cam it looked like it had over 100K miles on it and did not look so good and the timing chain looked like it would start giving codes soon .
so giving how much its costs in just gaskets alone i wanted to go back with some new parts
the kits comes with alot of the non serviceable parts like mane bearings and the book says if you open it up to look at the mane bearings you have to go back new
i all so did not like the look of mane bearing 3 . it was not making any sound but it did eat some thing from the last reman . got pics if you want to see it

now pistons 1 and the next 1 beside it moved ALOT in the bore so much so that i can get them to make sound and yes this is where the sound was coming from when driving .
now whats funny for me is when looking in the book for Measuring Piston to Cylinder Bore Clearance they say NOT to measure the piston its self and there is no real good info on this for the 8.1L
the pistons all so come in the kit so i told them to go new and over size if need be . this gives me piece of mind to know they are not making a err .
this is a lager shop i am working with so i am sure i maybe over thinking that part is why i did not say any thing before
