Default Input speed sensor location 2009 Chevy Cobalt

I have a 2009 Chevy Cobalt 2.2 L automatic. The error code indicates the input speed sensor failure. Someone told me that the transmission has to be dropped to replace it. I have seen that the 2008 doesn't need the transmission dropped. There is nothing on you tube and schematics with locations are not informative.

thank you

Sam

You have to diagnose the WHOLE CIRCUIT! Could be the sensor, harness in tranny, harness between tranny and PCM, the PCM, or any harness terminal....to think it is the sensor would be a huge mistake....

What is the actual code? Do you still have a speedometer reading?
