Help with flip key programming.
2013 Malibu LX 2.5. Runs horrible.
I have been having trouble with the VVT solenoids. Replaced them and still getting P0010, 11, 13, 14 codes. Also a P0101 Map sensor code. The original solenoids both showed open and replaced them with GM ones. Still having the codes. Wiring looks good. So next I replaced the computer with a used one. Seems to clear the codes, but I won't't start/crank. Computer will not acknowledge the key. Keeps showing locked padlock. (Security message) This is a flip key without the push to start.
After reading on the net, there is a process to clear and learn keys. Put key in lock, turn to run (not crank) after 10 minutes the padlock light will go out. Turn to off and back to run, give it another 10 minutes and light will turn off. Do it one more time and should be good. Well I have tried several times and the padlock light will not shut off. I even let it set for 40 minutes. Ideas??
What about the service theft system message on dash? Does it need to be cleared to do that? Or leave it on? I have tried it both ways.
Ford has a freeware scanning program. Forscan. Does GM have one similar that would help with programming keys?

GM does not.
The new PCM won't have those codes stored unless it saw the same problem on the previous car it was in. Since you haven't had the car run with the used PCM in it, it has had no opportunity to set those codes.
I think your best bet is to get a locksmith or dealership to reset the PCM, however, I don't know that the PCM is the problem yet.
P0010: Camshaft A actuator circuit open (intake)
P0011: Camshaft A over timing advanced
P0013: Camshaft B actuator circuit open (exhaust)
P0014: Camshaft B over timing advanced
Seems like a wiring issue to me unless you have proven out all of the wiring between the PCM and the actuators with a meter.

I did a test with a meter when the old PCM was installed. I was getting voltage at the VVT solenoids so they must have continuity. Both original solenoids had a very high resistance. (Over 5 meg ohms if I recall.)
Any reasonably priced scanners capable of resetting the keys? (A friend is having key issues also on a 06 Cadillac)
Thank you for your help!!
