Default Brake switch question

I have a 2006 chevy express van with a 6.0. My old brake switch was acting up and not letting me easily shift from park into gear and the traction control light would also come on and wouldn't turn off when I hit the button. Also the cruise control wouldn't work. I changed out the switch and everything worked fine again but the break lights wont work. I got a new switch thinking the first one I bought was bad. Still the same problem. Has anyone had this same issue and what did you do to fix it? Thanks in advance .

Did you replace the correct one? Sometimes there are two switches. One for the trans interlock and another for the brake light.

Did you check the stop lamp fuse or for bent terminals? just a quick thought. At the brake switch the red/wht wire comes from the fuse and the wht wire is out put.

Maybe take out the new switch, get a volt meter and map what circuit does what when you activate and deactivate the switch, then put it back in and backbrobe the plug to see if it is giving you expected results.
