Default cruise control not working

The cruise control in my 99 Yukon does not work. Was told to try replacing the brake light switch but all the break lights work. Was hoping someone can help figure it out without just changing parts for the heck of it. Thanks

Check fuse 6 in the IP fuse panel.

If you confirm all fuses are okay, could be a bad multi function switch, or a bad brake light switch. Have someone confirm the brake lights are functioning as they should when the brake is applied and released.

Fuse is good and the brake lights all work correctly.

you will have to check signals to the module and try to narrow it down
