Hi! New to the forum. I was wondering if the new 2019 Chevy Equinox came with the remote start already installed but just not activated or if it'* a separate installation altogether. I had a Silverado where it was installed but not activated and all I needed to do was to buy the new fobs from a GM dealer and take it to my dealer who took the code that came with the new fobs and contacted GM. GM then gave my dealer a code to enter into my truck'* computer and that activated the remote start.

You will have to go to the dealer with the vin to see if its factory installed.

I came across a site that can decode all the codes/build sheet, just by entering your VIN #.
I'd be curious to know if this site works for him & shows remote start information.
