My daughter'* Equinox has done this a few times, now. She puts the key in, turns the ignition, no clicking or guage activity. Then, we rock the car front to back a few times and gages come alive and will start.
My guess would be a transmission park
sensor ?

Do you have a scan tool?

Sounds like a loose battery connection.
