Default 2000 Impala Secondary Air Injection Pump Nightmare

I hate the design on our 2000 Impala Secondary Injection Pump...... we have replaced it twice and now it is dead and needs to be replaced again. The pump is under the drivers side fender...therefore it gets splashed and nasty...then the morning condensation comes back thru the exhaust lines and fills the pump with water........ Each time we replace it, it seems to last about 18 months or so (or shorter) then the CEL Code for it comes back on........ IS there a solution? Is it possible to trick the computer to keep the light off??

There have been quite a few TSB'* on the subject...

Were the TSB'* followed to the letter?....new parts, rerouting of the hose, etc.?

The only problems I have seen were improper installation.....
