08 Impala lock issue
My daughter has a 2008 Impala.... none (none) of the locks work, you have to manually operate them. When you hit the remote your hear the sound of the locks operating, but they do not lock or unlock.... when you press the unlock button on the door nothing happens not even any sound.... what is the issue.... the actuators?
I assume they were all working, and then they ALL failed at once...Nothing works from either door switch?
Checked door lock fuse?
Then I would be looking at several things......Worst case scenario, is the BCM......would help if you had a scan tool that read "B" codes, and body data....
First thing I would do is pull up your carpetting to see if you have water underneath it(especially the passenger side)....if you do, there are several splice pack/ground connections under there, that could be corroded......J314, J315, and G302......if they are bad, that could be your problem....

I do have a scanner that will read B codes, I have not had time to do that yet since I got home from work late tonight..... IF it were a fuse...why do I hear the lock(*) locking and unlocking when I hit the remote button...I see the lock on the door vibrating a bit but they do not unlock..... to me, a blown fuse or a BCM issue would not make noise when you hit the remote button.
If you can read BCM data, then you can see if you are getting requests from either switch.......
All the actuators would not go bad at once....all the relays would not go bad at once(there are 3)....
If you press the lock and unlock buttons on the switches, and nothing happens, then you could have bad switches, bad grounds to the switches, bad connection in both circuits, or bad BCM.....
However, if the keyless entry lock and unlock buttons cause the three relays to click, and the relays are ok, then it looks like there might be enough of a voltage drop in the circuit to prevent the actuators from having enough power to move the linkages....
This voltage drop, could be in several places......this is why you should lift the carpet, and check for water(top of the carpet could be dry) underneath....If you find water, or evidence of corrosion, then it could be the splice packs or the grounds, under the carpet.....
Another possibility is the relays....they work in tandem with each other.....they may "click", but if the contacts in the relay are bad, they may not complete a circuit, or could have bad contacts creating voltage drops, which won't deliver enough voltage to the actuators....
I would start my testing, by pulling the Driver'* door panel.....disconnect the actuator and attach a test light ...operate the keyless lock and unlock buttons.......should be bright when either button is hit...if not, attach one lead of test light to the tan lead of the disconnected harness, and the other end of the test light to a good ground....when you press unlock, the test light should light......switch the test light lead from the tan to the grey wire, when you press lock it should light up......this will narrow down where your problem is...
