Default Automatic Door Locks

I have a strange problem with the automatic door locks on my 1992 Bonneville SSEi. Both the remote and the buttons on the door will not lock the car, yet they both can unlock the doors. I can manually lock the doors then use either the power unlock on the drivers door or the remote and the doors unlock. I know that the remote lock button is working because when I press the button the alarm system arms itself, yet the doors do not ock. This does not seem line a fuse issue, though it may be.

Thanks for any help

-Corey

Someone screwed up your alarm install. Take it back to them.

Default Alarm

I just purchased the car with everything the way that it is. Is there anything that I can try at home myself before taking it to a shop?

Not trying to hijack this post, but I have the same issue with the factory setup. Will unlock but will not lock doors and will not unlock trunk.

As far as I know my setup is factory also. The car was already loaded so I assume that the alarm system was factory. The light for the security system is in the correct location on the dash and displays a steady "security" when it is armed.

My 95 is intermittently doing something similar too. Most of the time it works fine but every now and then it (remote or door button) will not unlock the doors. Sometimes I can get them to unlock if I push the lock button first, sometimes not.
My remote starter works off the unlock feature, push 3x to start. It still works after pushing unlock three times even when the doors don't unlock. I've had the remote starter on the car for about a year with no trouble. I don't think it'* the cause of my problem. Could it be the ground bars under the door seals that'* causing our troubles? Or a ground somewhere else?

Sounds like a problem with the door lock relay.

You might be right. Do you know where it'* at? I did a search and only found one thread asking for the location (it was never answered). My guess is under the hood, if so which one?

I think the lock relay on my 89 is under the passenger side dash but don't know if it'* in the same place on later year cars. If you remove the kick panel & operate the locks you might hear it clicking.

The wiring diagram I have shows a "door lock relay assembly" with six terminals. When I looked up the relay at Advance it showed a relay with 5 terminals. Does anyone know if this relay assembly requires two of these relays?
