Cadillac won't start

I assume you mean that the engine will not crank over, not that it cranks over and doesn't start?
Did you check out the starter enable relay circuit, BEFORE replacing the starter? That should have been the first thing you should have done....,

The reason you go to the starter enable relay and check the circuits is to determine, if the relay is working, if the fuses are ok, and if the starter is working, and also, if your SECURITY system is working......
Does your ignition key have a black resistor pellet on the key shaft? If yes, then you have the PassKey Security system....
One quick check, is turn the ignition key to the "on" position(not crank)....look at the cluster.......your SECURITY Light should come on, and then go out after 3 seconds....if it stays on, that is why the car does not crank......the PassKey module grounds the starter enable relay, when the resistor pellet on the key is "read" by the module.....if it doesn't read the key, The SECURITY Light will stay on, and it won't ground the starter enable relay.....the usually culprit is the ignition lock cylinder......it has two wires attached to it, that run up the steering column......what happens, over time, when you rotate the lock cylinder with the key, this flexes those wires.......over time one of the wires can break......if it breaks INSIDE the insulation, this can create intermittent problems....but if it breaks completely, it will never start.....
