Your answer on the go (and based on your model year, probably the correct one) is DEXRON-VI. It'* backwards-compatible with almost all GM-made transmissions.
Please, please verify before you start pouring it in. Using -VI in a transmission made for -III will void your wallet; using -III in a transmission made for -VI will void your transmission'* warranty (or worse).

i was suspecting the TCM, and i was right...
sadly my warranty was done last month when i didn't know, apparently the truck was purchased January 22nd 2006 which means the 5 year power train warranty is done
to replace the module is 1800 plus tax. towing is probably somewhere around 800 bucks, sucks!!!
anyways its in Edmonton now, flying there Monday or Tuesday to pick to up

Is this what they told you? Because what your saying sounds a little bit like a blown fuse. Ask me how I know that one. A electronic transmission needs power, take away that power and it will just limp along, slip like crazy but will get going. On my car the fuse wasn't labeled as transmission. It was labeled misc engine OBD2/cruise control. I can't say for sure what pin it is on your transmission, but pin E on the 4t65e needs to have battery voltage. This problem will not show up on a scan, only that nothing is working. Worth a look.

thats what they said, its 500km away from me and i honestly i cant do anything but believe them. my scanner wont work, and even if it did it might not scan it
I called onstar, they said something about the data not getting to the transmission and some BS like that, i couldnt really understand what she was talking about
i thought it was a fuse too, as i had the exact same problem when my TCC fuse was burnt in my GTP

No info getting to the transmission tells me no power is getting there. Again, blown fuse. Sucks it'* so far away, but it really sounds like that'* the problem.

i checked the TCM fuse and some other tranny fuse and they were both fine, but you're right it could be with something else too.
but at the same time a faulty module can cause such a problem. I'm from reading online and on Cadillac forums this seems to be a very common problem

So I get a call from Cadillac today, $1850.00+tax later for the module, it’* not the problem.
They are trying to convince me that the module wasn’t working, they replaced it yet it didn’t solve the problem.
I was busy with a customer when he called, I didn’t give him much attention. What I understood from him is that there'* some seal/gasket inside the transmission that might be causing the problem and it'll take 10 hours to get into @ $135.00. So $1350.00 & $1800.00 plus tax I’m just over a 1000.00 away from the cost of a new transmission for a 2007 Escalade with 75000km on it, mostly lady driven (My sister).
This is just ridiculous; I can’t believe I have to pay this amount of money weeks after my warranty was expired.
Back on topic, any idea if there was any recalls on 2007 Escalade transmissions? From reading online this seems like a very common problem.
The guy faxed me a paper with the codes they pulled out. P2714, P0776 & P0756
I have no idea why they said it is the module that needs to be replaced, which they replaced with nothing fixed yet I have to pay for it?
Reading the codes above, mostly clutch codes, could that all be caused by a faulty TCM?
I'm still very certain that my problem is somewhere between the TCC/Pressure valve or maybe a bad shift solenoid. But I wish I can prove anything
Can someone suggest what I should do? I mean now they are *guessing* it’* that seal (I’ll get more details tomorrow about it) and I'm worried if I do go ahead with it that it might not solve the problem. Just like the TCM module
Attached is all what I got from the dealer, along with 2 more pages about PIP4184B
I asked him to fax me the full work order with everything they've done so far, and this is all I got.
All I know is, for a truck with such a price tag, I'm very disappointed with how cheap this truck is. Heated seats failed on me twice, they removed the heated washer fluid feature, tail light stopped working few times due to bad wiring in the rear left side (snow getting built up on the cord causing it to unplug, had the same issue many times before with my 07 Avalanche), service traction control and stability comes on every now and them, transmission failing weeks after warranty, tires losing air ever since day one. I buy/lease a truck for my business every 2 years, my experience with GM for the Avalanche and Escalade was nothing but trouble, headache and money down the drain. I’ll make sure to post a for sale sign on this truck the day I get it back. It really pains me to say this, knowing how much I take care of my cars and how I keep up with maintenance and warranty work, after looking at the amount of time the Avalanche, Escalade & the GXP spend in the shop, I’m never buying another GM truck or maybe any GM product anymore.

Run this past SGP358 and see what he has to say. If the problem wasn't fixed, then they can put the old part back in and not charge. This is one of my biggest problems with shops. They say do this, and this don't fix it and still charge. OK, now try that, and charge you again. Now they have your car and you can't get it back unless you pay.
