Default 1997 DeVille Elegance - trunk lid rubbing - adjustable?

1997, 40K miles. The driver'* side of the trunk lid is a bit out of alignment. The lower corner near the bumper is hitting and rubbing off the paint. Comparison of the gap between drivers and passenger side notable when closed. Are there adjustments for the automatic trunk latch mechanism? The lid is aligned open, but it'* getting pulled out of alignment as the latch pulls it down to a closed position.

It would be cool to have pictures of both sides from just before the latch catches and after it is closed.

You should be able to tell what you need to do by looking at it close.
Does it have a motor close?

Sorry for delayed response. Got image of lid alignment just before the latch engages. Below. Lid is a bit out of alignment overall, right gap greater than left. But when the latch auto closes, it pulls the lid even more to the left, making contact at the bottom left corner (image in original post). Maybe latch is also misaligned (bent?) and pulling it farther to the left side. I may be looking at two different but related alignment issues. Carfixer, not sure what you mean by askign if there is a motor close?

"Motor close" as in a motor takes care of latching it then sucking it down to the all-the-way-closed position.

From the pictures, it looks like it just needs to be realigned the old fashioned way: loosen the bolts that hold the trunk lid to the hinges, adjust, then tighten snug but not tight, check fit, then repeat as needed etc.
