Default always having a hard time closing the trunk?

every time i open the trunk and i try to close it, it wont close on the first attempt, it usually takes about 4 to 5 trys to get the trunk close, any ideas what this could be? is it something with the latch? to me it seems its not always grabbing, the trunk pops open easy but its hard to close it, maybe something that i can add some grease to? any ideas or suggestions?

The auto trunk solenoid is not releasing. When it wont shut push on the solonoid part and see if it will let go.

You are talking about it not latching, correct? Not that it has a lot of resistance?

i had the same problem with my car. i found the latch on the trunk was out of place and the metal where it attaches was cracked. i had to weld it solid again . take a good look at it. you may just need to readjust yours.

Be careful adjusting the latch, as it might upset (bind) the release solonoid for the auto trunk release (if equipped).

Can you put your year and trim level in your signature?

Mine does that, I just tap the selenoid and listen for it to release before I close the trunk.
