Muffler Time !
After 24 years in all weather conditions, I'm surprised it hasn't fallen off by now !
I did not realize how many small holes & cracks were in this poor thing !
It is so fragile, you would not want to even tap on it !!
So I order in a Walker Sound FX # 18907 it comes with the tail pipe Included.
I discover the new muffler has a chuck of metal rattling inside. Hopefully it blows out. It was the only one available In Canada.
Midas Muffler is installing it tomorrow. Will report back how that goes, and what modifications may be necessary.

From day 3, the muffler been drilled with a 3/16th hole rear bottom edge & one from the bottom for condensation removal. Car was fully undercoated.
Anytime the car had been driven in salt, under body & muffler got power washed on the road in heated bay & also again once home.

I've tried to keep this car clean !

Wow. I don't even run mine through the car wash. I've had the car for 4 years and only washed it once. It was after hauling it for 600 miles on a trailer in sloppy conditions. it needed it.
It has been one of those day$.
It started out well with the easy installation of the muffler.
A non supplied muffler clamp was required. I would have preferred a tad wider band. It was cold in the shop & it was easy to see there were no leaks after the installation.
An electronic Co2 sniffer was used to double check it.

I asked for a brake & hub check and that is where the extra fun began.
Oh why does my wheel wobble almost 2 inches? The passenger side outer tie rod was completely out to lunch.
New outer tie rod installed, & I'm so glad that got fixed today.
There were very picky about the alignment & it was on the alignment rack twice to get it perfect.

They also gave me friends wholesale pricing, never charged any alignment time either !

Next I will have to spend some time & do the front brakes, rotors pads etc.

Wow, glad to hear it is fixed.
Also glad to hear of a positive experience at Midas. They had a bad reputation for a long time down here.
I noticed my muffler on the LeSabre is starting to look a bit tired at 24 years and 245,000 miles, but still has no rot. I replaced the intermediate rubber hangers about a year ago, and now need to replace one (so will do both) of the rear hangers soon. Waaaaay less salt in my car'* life though.
