Fuel rail pressure sensor
So I went to pick up the car. He test drove with me. The engine heated up a couple of times during the test drive..He stopped , waited a couple of minutes then restarted. I could not see the dial as to how much the overheat due to the angle from where I was sitting. He then stopped the vehicle and added coolant. he said that if he had let me take the car home as it was , I would have had the same problem as before (I assume cracked block). I have driven the car about 100km and runs great. It feels quite powerful and pretty smooth. After a small drop in coolant level, the level now appears stable.
Same here.
The "mechanic" should have taken the time to drive it around a lot to work this sort of thing out of it before presenting it to you. Especially after everything you've gone through.
Keep a close eye on it.
Did you get the warranty paperwork from the rebuilder, and has it been registered properly with them?

The seller of the engine asked for my VIN number and milage on the car. He said it was required for warranty purposes. He did say that the warranty is with the manufacturer of the engine and that is a company from the states called AER. The engine comes with the gold warranty , 3yrs or 160,000km no fault warranty.
It has gotten cooler in our are, around Zero celcius and is expected to go to negative ten. The car is stored in the garage at 10 degrees celcius. I am finding that the engine is taking longer to heat up. I usually idle it for about 2 minutes before driving. I think it used to take 2-3km to reach normal temp but the new engine takes 5-6km
This evening it was about 1 degree celcius. After driving for 20 minutes, I was parked outside for 1hr 40 minutes. When I returned to the car and started it, the rpm'* were about 1200 and within 30 seconds dropped straight to 750 rpm.. I thought it should rev higher for a bit longer but I will try and check again as it is getting cooler in our area.
