Wow, cool!

Here in the US it seems like many Mercedes are either new or just haven't eaten a $1,200.00 ignition coil yet. I just about never hear of them going 200,000 miles let alone 454,460 miles (except Sprinters). I suspect part of that is pride in ownership and maintenance, which typical US Mercedes owners don't have. The other part is lack of diesel options.

BTW, do i have to buy new headbolts? Old bolts seem fine and the torque spec is not so much.

To quote pretty much all of us from earlier in the thread ^^^^^^^ above: Cheap insurance, buy new head bolts, do the job once correctly not twice incorrectly, yada yada.

and btw, the new piston was lightened to have only about 10-15 grams of difference. There was a place where were little too much meat so they could grind it to be closer. That 10-15 grams was in line compared to old piston weight difference.
And this is going to be all stock in power and all. In Finland we have this thing called Museum Registration. Its like fraction of insurance and no tax. Normal car has insurance and vehicle tax just for owning a car and using it.

i got heads back from the machine shop. Valve guides and stem seals were shot. They fitted new guides and seals and grinded valves. Valves were pretty bad.. But now its all good.
Probably next week starts assembly. Should be easy.
