Cant find anything.. Which is weird... Usually can always find something...

I can't seem to find anything either Shawn. Been searching the internet for several days now... Was hoping there'd be someone here that could find something.

IDK I just went to the rock auto site to see when u mentioned pipes, it does not appear to have the cooling pipes like my PK av has. A photo of your set up would be very hepful to say the least as I dont have a 95 Lesabre.
Should be able to find a schematic though..one of the delco part direct sites has them but I am not am home.

Well, anything you guys can dig up will be appreciated greatly.

While we are researching this one, why are we replacing it anyway?

I tried to find some detailed guide on how to replace it, but I could not find anything, if I still had my AllData Subscription I could probably dig something up, but it expired a while back.
I wish you had a way to take a pic of the area, I could not find a good pic of the area anywhere on google.
There doesn't appear to be any coolant elbows attached to it, so it should be easier than changing one on a 3800 II, I am not sure if the alternator or power steering fluid res is in the way or not.
There are 7 or 8 bolts holding it on, can you see all of them?
Or do any look like they are behind one of the other pulleys, like the one on the power steering pump?

If it is the pulley that needs to be replaced, you could replace it for around 1/3rd of the price of a whole tensioner assembly.

I wasn't sure if my 95 manual covered vin L engines, but low and behold it does...

Mike, you asked why I was removing it. I am removing it because it is shot. The spring inside is either broke or out of place somehow, because the idler pulley sporadically jumps up and down. Doesn't do this all the time but when it does, it actually causes a voltage drop and sometimes even stalls the engine at idle(when in gear). I am only assuming that this voltage drop is what'* causing this occasional stalling problem but, I have practically exhausted any and all other possibilities.

The tensioner is definitely bad though, either way. After spinning the idler pulley by hand to test it(3 differant times), and it always ran smooth as silk, I finally replaced it anyhow and the damn tensioner is still jumping.

Got the part today and got er installed..... Took two hours. Mike'* manual was pretty good but, they neglected to tell me that two coolant pipes need to be removed and taken out of the way. They were a total nightmare. One goes to the water pump and the other goes to the lower intake. After I finally got those out of the way, the job went smooth as silk, except for re-installing those damn pipes. Anyway, got it all finished up and there is absolutely no jump or rattle in this new tensioner. With that running so smooth now, I did discover some play in the power steering pump. After I give the car a good 50 mile trial run tomorrow, I may tear another pump off another '95 that I have sitting here and give it a try on it too. Hopefully though, this solved the stalling problem.
