Default 3.8L oil pressure sensors

Has anyone had issues with the Oil pressure sensors failing on the 3.8L? Out of (5) 00-05 LeSabre daily drivers in the family, we have (4) that are reading max. pressure. I'll confirm that the sensors are bad with an ohm meter before ordering replacements. I was just curious if any other Gen-2 3.8L are experiencing oil sensor issues and might have more insight to offer?

Yep, happens all the time on these.

Usually they start dumping copious amount of oil on the ground just to the inside of the passenger-side front tire.

3800 Series 3
3800 Series 3 SC

I seldom see them read high though. Are they any particular brand that you know of?

I'll try to see if I can tell if these are OEM as I remove them. Thanks for informing me that they are prone to leaking when they fail.

You're welcome!

Easy way to get to them is through the wheel well with the tire removed, or if you're in a bind out on the side of the road, it can be done with the wheel on and turned all the way one way or the other, I can't remember which way works best, but I think it was turned all the way to the driver'* side.
