Post 2003 Park Avenue Ultra - 55K Miles. Maintenance advise and what needs to be changed?

Hi guys,

I'm completely new to this forum and now a first-time car owner. I admittedly don't know much about cars but I just received a 2003 Park Avenue Ultra with 55K Miles and it'* running great so far. However, I have read and heard that as great as the 3800 engine is, there are things that need to be changed. Such as plastic components etc. Could someone here be kind enough to give me a full rundown on what I should change/fix? And also if someone could give some maintenance advice on this particular car. I'm assuming the Supercharger requires a special kind of maintenance as well? I was also thinking of using some Marvel Mystery Oil in my fuel and oil for some maintenance.

Thank you so much, guys!

Congrats!

Regular oil and filter changes every 3,000 miles with a reputable brand and proper viscosity will get you a long way.

A transmission service that changes the transmission filter should be done I'd say every 50,000 miles.

Lube joints occasionally.

Follow owner'* manual on the rest.

Don't beat it all the time.

Should be good.

Why Marvel Mystery oil? Are you trying to solve a mystery or add one?

For the most part keep the fluids and filters up to date and drive it.

Thank you for your response! I greatly appreciate the help! Regarding the Marvel Mystery Oil, I was told and read that including it helps keep the engine clean on the inside and makes for good maintenance (speaking long-term). Not necessarily looking to solve an issue, just wanted to include it for better long-term performance and maintenance. Assuming MMO even works. Would you not recommend adding MMO?

I would not recommend it.

Barring something unforeseen, and providing you don't abuse it, it will likely last 200,000 miles with regular maintenance. Marvel Mystery Oil won't change that any.

Keep an eye on coolant levels.
Is the coolant orange or green?
Once and a while look at the radiator cap and make sure there is no sludge..
I say this because I am not sure if the LIM Gasket was ever replaced with an aluminum framed gasket, and the LIM Gasket is one of the worst issues I encountered with my PA..
Other than that the guys have great advice, the PA is a nice comfortable ride!
