Default 2000 Buick Regal LS stalls while at low idle or when shifter is placed in Park

Recently purchased this car. 3.8 Series II, non supercharged. Runs decent, good power, but sometimes stalls at stoplights and dies when I put it in Park. Starts up again just fine. I replaced the MAF sensor but that didn't help. Now it'* coding O2 sensor (can't remember if it'* upstream or downstream). Haven't touched that yet. Suggestions? Thanks.

I'll look into that. My research also suggests Cam Position sensor, cleaning throttle body, etc. I'm not very mechanically inclined and can't afford sinking a lot of $$ into repairs. It'* a good car and I don't mind putting some money into it to ensure it'* reliability. I paid $900 for it initially.

I also heard it could be a vacuum hose leak. I'd like to start with basics before taking it in to a shop.

Vac hose leak should cause a high idle, or set a lean code ....

Cam sensor should cause a hard start, rough idle, not a stall...

Ok, I replaced the MAF sensor (Duralast from AutoZone) to no avail. Finally took it to a shop to have diagnostic done. The tech replaced my brand new MAF with an AC Delco one. That helped a lot but not 100% solved. Whoda thunk? Today I also put in a new pos1 O2 sensor, double platinum plugs, new plug wires, fuel filter and filled the tank with premium gas and a can of Sea Foam. Runs way better now. It got late for me to put any real test miles on it yet but a quick trip across town with no issues has me feeling pretty positive. I appreciate everybody'* input on this forum it was very helpful.
