2000 Buick Park Avenue Front Transmission Mount
2000 Buick Park Avenue Presidential Edition White With Burgundy Top
187,000 Miles Mostly Original.
Now that I've got the upper intake completed, I am turning my attention to the transmission mount at the front of the engine located near the radiator. I realize this is actually the side of the motor since its transverse but you all know what I mean.
So I've been told the two at the sides can last a long time but the one near the firewall and the radiator do go. The one near the firewall is good for now and I can see that one is a bear. Its the one at the front that I can see needs replacing.
And this seems really easy to do. Two bolts on the mount itself which are completely accessible and then there are three bolts on the bracket connected to it which I can use a wrench on. I'll be sure to spray everything thoroughly.
Here'* the issue: I can't access the bracket bolts because there is a black canister in the way and a bracket that it is resting on. So I figured out the black canister can be removed simply by sliding three rubber sleeve like attachment to it. But how the heck do I remove the bracket it is resting on? That is what is blocking access to the mount bolts. Funny thing is, other Park Avenues do not have this canister and support bracket in this location like mine has. I guess different years had slightly different setups. I have seen others with nothing in this location with completely clear access the mount bracket bolts. I will send a picture tomorrow so it can be seen and answers on how to get it out.

I wanted to follow up in this. I changed the front mount back in June. It was a real sob because what is in the way of mine but not other I guess depending on the year is the secondary air injection canister. Don't know why on mine it is where it is and on other model years somewhere else. Front mount is done but I think the one in the back near the firewall is bad as of recently. That one looks near impossible to do. Should I let a shop do it since i don't have a lift?
The only mount I had to replace on my PA was the easy rectangular one post 4 with photo:https://www.gmforum.com/buick-172/mo.../#&gid=1&pid=1
Is yours supercharged or NA ?
The lift is the way to go, offer proper access to inspect it, or replace, which is where I would start.

Check to see if the AC Delco are available still. You can call the dealer with your VIN # and they can look up the available parts.
Once you have those part #*, you can enter in the part numbers into google to compare pricing.
