Default 1999 buick century trans question

Hi! I have a problem with this car. When I bought it, the transmission pan leaked. So i bought a filter kit, new fluid, and changed it. Now it wont go into gear. I dropped the pan to see if the filter dropped, it had not, so I put the fluid back in, add lucas transmission oil with it. I did notice that you dont have to press the brake pedal anymore to move the shifter. Does this have anything to do with it not engaging?

moved to technical section.

dont know much about auto transmissions but i would have someone try to shift into gear while watching the cable attachment point on top of the trans, assuming you made sure the fluid is at the line on the dip stick. did you check the fuses, sometimes power lost will cause them to act funny too.
