I just talked to the NEW dealer I took it to. The service writer allowed me to go for a drive with a manager. The guy was real nice. I got the car to act up for him right away. He scratched his head. He brought a scan tool and was monitoring the tranny while we drove. Then HE drove for a while and felt the same clunking. When we got back to the dealership he said he really would like to drive another one to compare. I said good luck finding one. We drove around the car lot and sure enought they had an 04 Crimson for sale with 47000 miles. (They wanted $19280- too much). So we both went for a drive in it, and it did the same exact thing. After it is warm, it feels like the torque converter unlocks and locks and unlocks and locks as you step on the gas. It is a very noticeable ka-clunk. Now he thinks it may be normal ?!?!?!.
What is a guy to do?

No, it'* deep in the drivetrain. The whole car clunks. The dealer just called and said they couldn't find anything wrong and they believe it'* normal operation. I can't believe none of the other BC members have complained about or experienced this problem. Especially after I drove two GXPs that did it. It'* a very annoying drive characteristic that I've never felt in the 10 previous GM cars that I have owned. It'* very prevelant if you use your gas pedal to monitor(change) your speed, like on a twisty country road or a traffic-filled 4 lane highway. Maybe it'* high performance and front-wheel-drive related.
