Anyone care to search? I'm on the way to work right now.

Alittle off topic, but as far as warranty work, whats the deal with rental/loner cars? I know back when we first got the 95 the dealer would always give my mom a rental if the car was needed for the day or overnight. They have a deal with Enterprise and National. I am wondering if they are still being generous with issues like that or they just gonna be cheap and offer a ride home. It'* gonna be annoying to only have one car for the weekend.

If they can get buy with a ride home they will do that. I dont see whay a dealer would have too keep a car a whole weekend for a sunroof issue well the HUD. Dealers will only set up a loaner if the problem will take more than a couple of hours to fix. Some dealers have loaners and some have deals with rental agents like enterprise. I know if its an enterprise and you have a GM car they can only loan you a GM car or the rental place has to pay.

I guess you are young and anxious to drive a rental or loaner for a while but personally I prefer the dealer fixxes it and I drive home that day in my car.

Its not that i want a rental, but its a PITA to only have one car. I'm 23 so i guess i am young, but i'm definitly not a teenager. I have rented cars for business travel and for personal vacations and its not a real big thrill, just a mode of transportation (i usually get some crappy car anyway.)
I am dropping it off saturday morning and if they have to get parts that wont happen untill monday. We both leave for work at 7am and service doesnt open till 730 so...

Anyways, not the end of the world, but it annoys me to take a car in for warranty work and can't go anywhere, or have to bed friends/neighbors for rides.

When my moms 95 was under warranty Enterprise would usually give us a Nissan Altima, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, a 96 Bonneville once and i remember a Volvo 850. They pretty much gave whatever they have left.

Yeah if her car is under warranty she should be entitled to a loaner car. Might be time for you to speak to the service manager. Seriously when I was your age I was thrilled to get to drive different types of cars so I didnt mean to offend.

Why would they take her car in for service on a Saturday knowing they are closed at 12 and for sunday so the car just sits till monday?

Either way I would talk to the manager about a rental. If they assume you dont need one they wont offer.

Dropped the car off this am at the dealer. They said they would look into the issues i am having and they have to order the sunroof thing. I got alot of complements on the car. The service writer, a customer ans a few mechanics. It was pretty impressive coming from a pontiac dealer and all. Anyways, i will update here later when i get the car back.

Yeah all the salesmen came out and checked my car as well. Nice feeling it is to have a exclusive car.

So i got the car back. They claimed to have fixed the sunroof visor, but said they need the car back during the week for the HUD issue. Since its pouring rain, i couldnt open the sunroof untill i got back home in the garage. The visor now pops up, but its still loose when its up and it barely goes much higer than the roof. I will try to get pics up later. They need to contact GM about the bouncing HUD image. They took it for a drive and did notice it, and the service writer agrees that its very distracting. So they are going to search the TSB and see what the repair should be. I asked about the foglight issues and the intermediate shaft, and they said both see to be fine, but they made a note of it in the dealer comp and said that if i have a problem with either they will fix it.

Wow fast turnaround but I guess they didnt do too much. Post a pick of how your visor sits and I am sure people will ring in if its fixed right or not.
