My front side passenger panel on fender came loose when car was fairly new under warranty. The bodyshop under direction of the dealership tried to fix it with one piece of 2 sided tape per specs - didn't hold for more than a day. Then dealer got and used double thickness 3M tape from GM. That has held since - for the past 4+ years. (Don't know how we would survive today without tape ! lol )

It'* that double thickness tape that got me exicited with the dealer, the two places they reattached now sits outa enuff from other panels to notice/ anyway doesnt mater anymore . The panels are half removed for paint job and he'* going to reattach with real adhesive. Car been in garage 3 days and I'm already missing her.
