GM at Sebring
Im posting this around to some of the forums I frequent. Not sure if this is the best spot on this forum but it is where I first showed the CTS-V. It did not click at the time that it was not a Northstar powered car. Its still great news anyhow.
The Cadillac CTS-V 2 car team debut in the SCCA Speed World Challenge at Sebring this weekend. Racing in the GT championship class the CTS-V brings #1 and #2 victory competeing with cars such as the Viper, AWD Audi RS6, Corvette, and Saleen Its a 50 minute 20 lap supporting race that runs same weekend of 12 hours of Sebring. Sebring is a 7 + mile circuit. Sitting on the pole in 1 and 3 position from standing start Andy Pilgrims #3 pole car stalls because of clutch creep long before light. Audi AWD RS6 jumps to lead off the line. The pole sitter Max Angelelli'* CTS-V is in second. After a few laps Angelelli passes the Audi and pulls to over a 3 second lead. Pilgrim'* CTS-V running from the back makes lap times from 3-4 seconds faster than the pack and dashes just in time to make second by the last few laps.
Not bad for rice, ey ?
Audi RS6 3rd, Viper 4th, Corvette 5th and Saleen also dashes from second to last from line problems to 6th place.
Great race. Great day for this GM fan.

The yellow Corvette C5-R wins GTS class in the 12 hour race 3rd year in a row.It was a fourth overall running with the P1 and P2 prototypes and the army of Porsche'* in the GT class. The fastest running Corvette of the team drops out after a few hours due to burned clutch. Ferrari of Danny Sullivan takes 2nd, Saleen 3rd, Viper 4th, Ferrari 5th, with third Corvette at 6th.

The first place P1 Audi R8 was leading the 12 hours by 5 laps on its 5th year of domination. Lola/Nissan car won P2 and of course nothing but Porsche 1-6 and beyond for the GT class, there is some Ferrari'* in GT but not up to par yet I guess.
I have been waiting for this race along time and nothing pleases me more than to see GM on top against the worlds best.

The CTS was in a different race. Like a preshow or post show thing. That race was on today at 1:00.
Heres a better press release. I just found. I'm no news man. Those black and red cars looked sharp as hell. Record times.
