In all of the reading I've done, I haven't found an explanation of what the letters GXP stand for. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Similarly I always wondered about the ( i ) in SSEi, you go from a non SC engine to a SC type one and you add an i, I could never find anything the made sense.

My thinking is if a GTP can (after mods) be upgraded to a GTX why can't an SSEi be upgraded to an SSEx.

Just a thought.

I believe the i at the end was a drunk marketing persons interpretation of the 1 as the eight digit of the vin. They got drunk and didn't think letters and numbers could be mixed up. I think only rice does that.

So if you were designated to definately have a SC then you had an i... ever wonder why all the letters are caps and the i is lower case?

The only Bonnie from 92-99 and 00-05 to have any meaning at all was the SLE <--- Sport Luxury Edition...

LE, SE, SSE, SSEi and GXP are just trim level designations with no meaning... we have gone round and round with GM on that one... They have no meaning...LOL
Then perhaps that what they do on Fridays over there.... and come up with meaningless designations.
